O'Brien Vision Center is Hiring an Optician (1 yr Experience Required) Near Southaven, MS

  • Assists patients in selecting frames and recommending the best style, color, and material
  • Educate patients on lens options and recommend best material and/or options based off Rx and lifestyle
  • Take precise PD and seg height measurements to ensure best vision
  • Explain insurance benefits to patients
  • Ordering glasses and filing insurance benefits
  • Repair and adjust glasses for the best vision and fit
  • Assist with frame inventory
  • Interact with patients, staff, vendors, and doctors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Accurately enter patient information and optical orders into EHR system
  • Inspect glasses for accuracy and follow-up with labs and keep patients informed of any delays
  • Troubleshooting
  • Keep optical department clean and organized
  • Other duties as assigned

*Must have knowledge of reading optical Rx, vision insurance, and HIPAA guidelines*

*Friendly, outgoing personality is a must. Must maintain strong work ethic and positive attitude*

*Must have ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and be detail oriented*

*Basic math skills required*

*Punctuality and reliability required*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
